Sacred Beasts a.k.a. Eidolons
The princess can learn to summon powerful Eidolons by equipping gemstones until she gains enough AP to
summon the deity on her own. Most of her summoning involves powerful elemental and non-elemental attacks.
Eidolons will not always appear during summons. They always appear the first time you summon them, and
thereafter the chance of them appearing during the summons is random. Usually, they just send their
weapon to do the dirty work.
When the Eidolon appears during the summon animation, the attack is nearly twice as powerful. When Dagger
summons an Eidolon while tranced, the summon attack reoccurs automatically. Dagger can raise an Eidolon's
attack power by using the Boost ability.
Dagger's Odin summons has a certain percentage chance to cause instant DEATH to an enemy. However, if Odin
fails to cause death, no damage is inflicted whatsoever unless the "Odin's Sword" support ability
is equipped. This causes wind damage to all enemies in case instant DEATH fails to occur. The formula for the
chance to cause instant DEATH is:
[Dagger's magic power/4 + difference between Daggers' Level and Monsters' Level]
The Atomos summons has a different attack percentage depending on whether the full animation or just the
partial animation is shown:
[Full animation = (30 + # of Amethysts)% of enemy's HP]
[Short animation = 2/3 of Full animation formula]
The strength of other summons will increase depending on the type and number of jewels in your party's
inventory; the more jewels you have, the greater the strength of a particular
summon. View the association between a summon and a jewel.
First there's Ifrit, you learn that from a topaz, (Fire) 26MP 20AP.
Shiva from an opal, shiver coz ice is here) 24MP 20AP.
Odin from dark matter (bought in auction in Treno, if I
remember correctly). Hint: Get Odin's Sword from Ancient Aroma to attack with wind element in case
Odin's death attack misses, requires about 10-12 magic stones. Wind
damage, casts Death (either one) 28MP,30AP.
Ramuh, from a peridot, Thunder damage. 22MP,30AP.
Leviathan from an aquamarine: Water damage. 42MP, 40AP.
Atomos from an amethyst. Sets targets HP, more or less
32MP 25AP.
Bahamut from a garnet... Mega Flare, nuclear fire
like or non elemental? (I remember flare from the
earlier FFs). 56MP, 80 AP.
Ark from a pumice (Defeat Hades, use two pumice pieces and synthesize into one, or steal from
Ozma, but learn boost from the pumice pieces for both princess Garnet Til
Alexandros@Dagger and Eiko). Shadow elemental damage. 80MP, 100AP.
Eiko can learn to summon powerful Eidolons by equipping gemstones and other Add-ons until she gains
enough AP to summon the being on her own. Her summons involve powerful elemental and non-elemental attacks,
and also protective and restorative magic that affects the whole party at once.
There is only a chance that the Eidolon will actually appear during the summons. They always appear the
first time you summon them, and thereafter the chance of them appearing during the summons is random. When
the Eidolon appears during the summon animation, then the effect is nearly twice as powerful. When Eiko goes
into Trance, there is a much stronger chance that the Eidolon will appear. Eiko can make the Eidolon appear
each time by learning the Boost ability.
While Eiko only learns to summon four Eidolons throughout the course of the game, you can make some
of these beings perform various spells and attacks, depending on what Add-on Eiko equips. When you add all
of the alternate summons into an equation, then you can see that Eiko actually has just as many summon variations as Dagger.
In addition, once Eiko learns how to summon Phoenix from a Phoenix Pinion, there is a chance that Phoenix
will completely restore the party if everyone gets KO’d. You can determine the percentage chance of this
occurring by dividing the total number of Phoenix Pinions in stock by 256. So don’t use or sell those
Phoenix Pinions; they’re hard to come by!
Carbuncle from a ruby (note there are alternate powers that carbuncle posseses, by
default (and with ruby) it is ruby light (casts reflect), there's emerald light from
an emerald (castes haste) lastly there's diamond light (Note: not diamond dust, thats
Shiva)from a Diamond (casts vanish) 35AP, 24MP.
Then theres Fenrir (also has alternate powers) from a sapphire with
Terrestrial Rage (none or sapphire) (Earth damage) and Millenial Decay
(Maiden Prayer) (Wind damage). 30 AP, 30MP.
Phoenix (from Phoenix Pinion (Fire damage on enemies, chance to revive dead party members)
40AP, 32MP and Madeen (ribbon). 120AP, 54MP.
